Is it normal to have a power outage on a cruise?
I got off the Norwegian Spirit today, and a few nights ago we had a power outage and also engines failed, so we were just drifting at sea for about 15 minutes. The crew (captain, cruise director, etc.) makes it appear that no much, but my question is, is that common to have a power like that?
I got off the Spirit again today, and I've been on many cruises and I've never experienced. I can not answer your question for sure, although I have a guess. The Spirit is running on only 3 engines vs 4, and thoes 3 are strained. They are moving as quickly as possible, and although the captain and Darin Hoyt did very little outside it was definitely because we were in the ocean no engine movement at all. My assumption that the problem was with the engines working at full capacity and who are tense. I'm really very surprised that not possibly cancel or modify the cruise after us to fix us a little engine, because after that experience, definitely do not want to happen to someone else. It was a very scary thing to happen out of my 7 years in the cruise. I do not think that is common because I've never experienced or heard of something like this happens. Other than that, it was not fantastic cruise? (:
