What is the best way to configure my exhaust if I like the way it sounds, but using the same set up?

I have a number of headers and dual 40 series flowmasters on my 1970 El Camino. I do not like the way that sounds good. The engine is a population of 350 and instant messaging on the verge of putting a mild Comp Cam in it. How do I configure the exhaust? I do not want it to go beyond the front of the rear wheels.

Replace the "low rider" clang 40 Flowmasters mufflers with some decent sound.
